All new 3M 2080 (Gloss) glossy foils also have a foil protective layer to reduce irregularities in the top layer.
This layer can remain during installation.
The protective, thin top layer prevents scratches and possible damage to the gloss film when applying the film to the vehicle.
This recyclable top layer is only removed after the film has been applied, so that the end result looks perfect, even with the most complex projects and curved body panels.
The ultra-thin film layer also ensures a lower friction of the squeegee, and the foil can also be cut with 3M Knifeless tape.
The 3M Wrap Film series 2080 is 3D deformable, has a gray controltac and comply adhesive layer for excellent opacity, repositionability and a quick and easy assembly without air inclusions.
The 3M 2080 Gloss series is produced with a PFL (Protective Film Layer) layer over the surface of the film and with advanced technology to easily and quickly remove the PFL after wrapping, making the 3M™ 2080 Car Wrap Film excellent late application and the surface of glossy films shows fewer irregularities, such as haze or scratches.
Advantage of the protective layer: Great reduction of unevenness in the top layer of the end product.
Remains during installation and is easily and cleanly removed afterwards.
You can leave the foil protective layer on during installation. You can even leave the protective layer on if you wrap recesses or slopes.
But do not forget to remove the protective layer before the after heating starts.
The 3M™ Knifeless Tape also cuts through the foil backing.
The softer and more deformable film fits better around slopes and in recesses, resulting in a sleeker appearance.
